Vännäs Kasino on European tour for the first time in April/May

In January 2022, four musicians from the north of Sweden traveled to Hamburg’s Clouds Hill Studios – Sara Almgren (The (International) Noise Conspiracy, INVSN, Masshysteri, The Vicious), Kajsa Poidnak (Rome Is Not A Town), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, INVSN, Fake Names, The (International) Noise Conspiracy) and Thomas Hedlund (Cult Of Luna, Phoenix, The Deportees, Khoma). Vännäs Kasino were born. The self-titled debut album recorded at that time embodies pure, passionate punk rock. 16 songs, 30 minutes, “true punk spirit”, as HYMN (SE) put it.

The album was initially released exclusively on vinyl, with only 500 hand-numbered copies being pressed – the band designed 100 of the sleeves themselves using a spray-painting process. Instead of offering the album on streaming platforms, Vännäs Kasino decided to initially only offer their debut at their few concerts and later via their Instagram and Bandcamp channels and selected record stores. A colored vinyl repress followed in spring 2024.

In November 2024, the quartet released their second album “II” in a similar manner. Dennis Lyxzén describes it as follows: “15 songs of no-nonsense fast rock that feels more defined and focused than our debut. It started as an idea to record a new EP but the writing process was so much fun that it ended up being a full album.”

Unlike their debut, Vännäs Kasino recorded “II” in Sweden:

We meet up with Johann Scheerer in Sundsvall in the beautiful Nova Studio for an intense 5 days. The ambition was to create a lean sort of mix tape of our favorite punk and hardcore music but done in our own way. The result speaks for itself and it’s a wonderful tight and fun album.

After a few gigs in Sweden and Norway, Vännäs Kasino joined The Baboon Show as support on their tour in early 2024, entering stages in Denmark and Germany for the first time. Now it’s finally time for Vännäs Kasino‘s first European tour of their own, which will take them through Germany, France, Austria and the Czech Republic in April and May 2025.
