Author Benedetta Baldin - 27.1.2026
The final performances of the ongoing Scandinavian tour by British progressive rock stalwarts Uriah Heepwill be performed without founding guitarist Mick Box, who is unable to attend due to illness, as per Blabbermouth. Sam Wood, the guitarist for the Thin Lizzy spinoff group Black Star Riders, and Wayward Sons, the group headed by former Little Angels frontman Toby Jepson, will continue to cover for Mick on the tour. The following statement was earlier posted on the band’s social media pages by Uriah Heep’s bassist Dave Rimmer, drummer Russell Gilbrook, keyboardist Phil Lanzon, and singer Bernie Shaw.
Hi Everyone. We just want to update you all on Mick’s progress. He is on the mend but doctors have advised that he continue to rest and recuperate.
For the remains of the Scandinavian run we will continue with Sam Wood on guitar, whom I think all will agree that have seen the shows in Finland, does Mick and the rest of us very proud every night.
Thank you again for all your continued support.
Bernie, Phil, Russ & Davey
