Norwegian avant-garde metal band Ulver has released the shocking news of the death of their longtime keyboardist Tore Ylvisaker. Ylvisaker died on August 16, his 54th birthday. The group confirmed the sad news on social media, and that they will be taking a break to grieve their loss.
“It is with black holes in our hearts we have to inform you that our brother for over nearly thirty years, Tore Ylvisaker (Ylwizaker), is dead,” they wrote. “He passed on the night of 16 August, his 54th birthday. It is all too much to take in at the moment. We will return as soon as we have collected ourselves. Rest in peace, dearest friend. We love you, forever.
Ylvisaker joined Ulver in 1998 for the album “Themes From William Blake’s The Marriage of Heaven And Hell” and was with the band until the 2020 album “Flowers Of Evil”. He also produced, recorded and mixed for bands such as Ihsahn, Mayhem, Star Of Ash and Arcturus.
