U2 announced a new concert movie to be released in September

Author Benedetta Baldin - 22.8.2024

“V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas”, the new concert film from U2, will have its premiere on September 5th and be available only at the Sin City venue that they assisted in opening with the 40-night U2: UV residency last year.

The goal was to give the immersive moviegoers as close to the live U2:UV concert experience as possible – and then some. I’ve never seen a U2 show. I’m so relieved I caught a great one. The Edge

The guitarist co-directed the movie with Morleigh Steinberg. At the state-of-the-art new venue, U2 performed 40 sold-out gigs between September 2023 and March 2024. The venue’s cutting-edge sound system and stunning visuals enable performers to envelop concertgoers from every angle. The first film to be fully shot with the Sphere Entertainment-designed Big Sky camera system with ultra-high resolution is V-U2.

We knew all the tremendous capabilities of the technology, but we didn’t know what to expect from the process of making this film.  The work became a true collaboration between band, artists, producers, and technology teams. The end result is a cinematic experience that transports viewers into the energy and beauty of the live show. Morleigh Steinberg

The press release states that the price of $100 for the least expensive seats to V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas “is the full out-of-pocket price inclusive of taxes and fees.” For Sphere Inner subscribers, they go on sale today, and for everyone else, they go on sale tomorrow.
