Tour conditions are so rough, Incantation are asking fans to bring food

Author Benedetta Baldin - 28.2.2026

Along with Belphegor, Incantation is currently touring North America, with Hate and Narcotic Wasteland joining them, as per Lambgoat. Just a few days after the tour began in Brooklyn, New York, on February 19, guitarist and singer John McEntee took to social media to ask fans to bring bottled water and nonperishable food to future performances, alleging surprisingly poor hospitality along the way. McEntee made it clear that he wasn’t pointing the finger at anyone. Donations can be made at the band’s merchandise station, or fans can get in touch with the group directly to set up handoffs outside of venues where outside things might not be allowed.

Yeah, I just want to let people know that our hospitality sucks on this tour. I don’t know what the deal is, but we haven’t been getting much from the clubs. I don’t know to tighten up the belts or whatever’s going on.

So, this is a little announcement saying that at our merch table, we will be accepting your non-perishable food items so we could stock our bandwagon with some food for us. Yeah, it’s kind of a joke, but it also is really strange that it’s been so tight on this tour, but it is.

If anybody feels like bringing some food on over, go for it. We’re all about it because you basically just get a buyout, which is about enough to pay for most of a meal each day. I figured maybe someone out there, I don’t know, might have some badass food that they want to bring to the show. We’re accepting. So thank you very much.

And yeah, hopefully, we see you guys at the show. And yeah, just drop it off for Kyler at our merch table. And yeah, we’ll we’ll gladly accept it. We’re also accepting bottle water. And I don’t know, I mean, they probably can’t bring beer into the club or anything. And if you can’t get in the club, I don’t know, just hit us up or something and we’ll pick it up outside.

I know it sounds cheesy, but it’s the way it goes sometimes. It’s all good. It isn’t a slag on any of your bands or promoters or anybody, but the fact is, it’s like we’re not getting shit. Why the hell not ask people who might have a little more to hook us up? Because we are on a shoestring budget on this tour, so fuck it.

Well, thank you guys and see you soon. Take care. Bye-bye.

McEntee would send another message after the initial one, claiming that the confusion regarding hospitality had been resolved. While on tour in North America, the band will still host food drives, but the food will be donated to nearby food banks. Days later, on February 25th, McEntee would publish this in a larger follow-up piece.

What’s up, everybody? This is John McEntee here from Incantation. I have some crazy stuff going on, but I wanted to say that our stuff was sorted out with the hospitality, all the miscommunication and other BS. I want to thank our manager, Alex and Gunther, for helping out for our booking agent Stefan from Continental from helping out our tour manager, Sean, for trying to make things work and everything. I think I’m missing somebody else. I have some little notes here. I don’t know. Did I miss somebody? And the promoters, of course. Yes, I’m sorry. Of course, Dieter and Gordon helped me with this whole thing. But anyway, I want to say that all the support you guys showed and everything thing was really heartwarming. Just all of us in the band are just blown away by the show of support, and that’s really kind. But the thing is, is that It was a little problem. It wasn’t really a big problem that we had. There’s people out there that have way more problems. I have a great life. I have a great wife, a great family life. We get to play musical all over the world and people enjoy it.

Things aren’t that bad. It’s not like we’re starving out in the streets. After people offering all this stuff, I really felt like We need to give back to people that actually are really dealing with BS. We have our own shit that we have to deal with at home. Sometimes things get rough. I know firsthand that things get rough sometimes. I mean, even over the last couple of years, money has been super tight, and you have to worry about all these food prices, all that crap. I’m good at this. Anyway, this is what we’re doing. I know it sounds crazy, but we’re going to do a food drive at our shows from now on to support the underground… Well, not support, support from the underground metalheads for the local communities around these clubs. I didn’t even tell the clubs yet. Just so you know, all you clubs that are listening, we’re going to put a donation box somewhere, hopefully by the door, something like that. Hopefully, you guys don’t have a problem with it. But to make this happen, this food donation happen so we could help the less fortunate is, I’ll need some help because I don’t know shit doing this stuff.

I really don’t. But I do know there’s food banks and we can give them non-perishable foods and all that stuff. If you’re going to any of the shows or you live in the area and you’re You don’t have to be a metalhead or whatever, but just let me know who the local food bank is or something so we know where to bring the stuff to. Or even better, if you have someone that can help us bring some of the stuff there. This is like last minute notice. I don’t expect like we have truckloads of stuff, but we’re going to start with just whatever we get. We get four things, whatever. Just four meals for people. If not, whatever. If we get 100 things, great. If you could bring something cool, if you can’t bring something cool, trust me, money’s tight. I know. I feel it. We feel it as a family. All the people in the band, you feel a pinch. We know that it’s not It’s easy to get by. If you can’t afford to do anything, there’s no obligation. No one’s going to judge you or anything like that. If you do, great.

Some people are better off than others. Yeah, Yeah, but we’re going to need your help because we don’t know what we’re doing, but we’re going to do it. We’re going to make something happen. We want to thank everybody for coming out to the shows. We’re going to do… We have some shows coming up, so let me just mention the shows are playing. What’s it? Hq in Denver. I have to read them. I can’t remember all these. Hq in Denver, Colorado, an Albuquerque to Launchpad, Hamilton City to Hamilton Theater, Houston, the Stout Bar, San Antonio, Paper Tiger, Mesa, Arizona, Rosetta Room, San Diego, Brick by Brick, San Francisco, a A Lounge, Roseville, California, the Goldfield Trading Post, Los Angeles at 1720, I’m sorry. And Anaheim at the Observatory. So I hope the venues don’t mind doing this. I sure hope they don’t because we’re just trying to collect food for homeless people or people that might need food, people that maybe aren’t homeless, but they just are low on money, need something. Anyway, we plan on doing this at our future shows. We just don’t know exactly what we’re doing, but we’re going to try to do it, like I said.

Let me see here. This is like, I don’t even know. Am I forgetting something? I probably am. Basically, I think we’re pretty good. You get the point. There’s going to be some press release we’re going to put out with stuff or whatever. Bottom line is we need your help to make this happen. We’re just a freaking death metal band, but we want to do something good. We’ve seen so much positive energy and messages and people offering food to us and all this stuff. It’s like, I get it, but there’s people that need it way more than us, even though it does help us. We’ll live. We’ll get by. We’re fine. I just want to thank you guys. Whatever. We’re going to do it and see what happens. It’s like, What are you going to do? I don’t really… I don’t know. Someone messaged me and just let me know, like I said, about these food banks in the area. I know I’m repeating myself, but this is just really a new thing for me. I figured if we could help other people out, they’re less fortunate. I want to. I know how it is to be struggling.

I mean, I’ve been a musician my whole life. Hopefully, There’s people that I could give back to a little bit. I don’t even have a lot myself, but it doesn’t matter. I’d rather give back and feel good about it. Anyway, thank you guys. Bring your nonperishables out to the show. Like, can stuff, no glass, just can stuff. I don’t know. I’m sure you could look up online what nonperishables are cool to bring or whatever. If you bring something cool, if you don’t, like I said, it’s cool. I’m just repeating’s that. Thank you guys, and thank you for the support. You guys fucking rule. We really appreciate everything. See you.
