The new single from legendary guitarist Tony Iommi is out today. Entitled “Stormwatcher”, the track is built around an unmistakable guitar riff, penned by the man who has been the driving musical force behind Black Sabbath’s extraordinary career. “Stormwatcher” explores a maritime theme: a ship caught in a storm. The track is accompanied by a striking animated video, which brings to life the words and imagery evoked by singer Jørn Lande.
“The song channels something that comes from within, something authentic,” explains Lande.The lyrics tell a powerful story of hardship and pain, tracing life’s journey from birth to death and beyond. “We are the captains of our own ship: a vessel making its way through unknown and sometimes treacherous waters, always continuing to sail and staying firmly on course through every storm, guided by dreams of new horizons and the desire for something new.”
Among the many standout moments on this extraordinary album, “Stormwatcher” perfectly encapsulates the dark atmospheres and poignant passions that run through “From The Dark”. Throughout the album, Tony Iommi is joined by Lande, co-writer of all the tracks, as well as bassist Becky Baldwin and drummer Karl Brazil. Co-produced by Tony Iommi and Mike Exeter, his long-standing creative collaborator, co-writer, producer and sound engineer, “From The Dark” is a first-rate album that takes its rightful place within Iommi’s impressive discography.

The double-LP edition will be released in four different colours, available from various retailers. Pressed at 45 rpm on double vinyl to ensure optimal dynamic range, the deluxe fold-out sleeve is made from high-quality black card and features a die-cut in the shape of Tony’s signature cross. Beneath this lies dark, richly detailed artwork that visually accompanies the journey through the album: part of the illustration remains visible when the inner sleeve is inserted, whilst the full image is revealed when it is removed.
An exclusive Amazon CD edition will also be available, featuring the same die-cut cover, as well as a deluxe CD mediabook edition with a 32-page booklet and two bonus tracks.
