Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee recently took to Instagram to lambast fellow artists for their social media promotions during the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires. His impassioned critique, however, appears to have backfired.
“The sight of people continuing their routine social media posts makes me ill,” Lee declared on Instagram. “At this moment, with one of history’s major disasters unfolding, no one cares about your album release dates or upcoming shows!” He added that while he understands the need for levity, people should instead focus on offering assistance to those in need.
However, as Metal Injection was quick to highlight, Lee’s message rings somewhat hollow. In what appears to be a case of unfortunate timing, Mötley Crüe had promoted their Las Vegas residency just the day before his post.
