Today’s drama has been about Vitriol – here’s what happened

Author Benedetta Baldin - 25.11.2025

The instability of Vitriol‘s lineup has persisted, and it has once again manifested itself dramatically, as theprp reports. Guitarist Keith Merrow, who joined the group in March, claims that he, drummer Andy Vincenzetti, and freshly hired bassist Brett Leier have all left the band’s current tour. Furthermore, they essentially left the band’s founder, frontman/guitarist Kyle Rasmussen, at a petrol station in Vermont during this mass migration. On November 24, Merrow posted the following on social media.

EVERYONE WHO’S READING THIS- ME, BRETT, AND ANDY LEFT VITRIOL BECAUSE KYLE SUCKS. THAT’S IT.

IT DOESN’T REQUIRE AN ABSOLUTELY PSYCHOTIC 2 PART VIDEO SERIES TO EXPLAIN.

HE IRRATIONALLY SCREAMED AT THE WHOLE CREW AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WE SIMPLY WON’T TOLERATE IT, JUST LIKE ALL THEO THER 19 PEOPLE WHO LEFT THIS FAILED BAND.

WHAT MORE NEEDS TO BE SAID? IT’S THE SAME SHIT AS EVERY OTHER VICTIM OF THIS ABUSE

HE FUCKED AROUND AND FOUND OUT. I’LL BE HOME FOR THANKSGIVING, BABY.

SORRY VITRIOL FANS. WE HAD TO ABANDON HIM AT A GAS STATION IN VERMONT.

MYSELF, ANDY, BRETT, AND MATT WILL NOT TAKE KYLE‘S COWARDLY AND WEAK OUTBURSTS OF MISPLACED ANGER.

WE GAVE EVERYTHING WE HAD, AND NOW HAVE NOW LEFT YOU WITH NOTHING. MASS EXODUS. THIS WAS THE DARKEST DAY OF MY MUSIC CAREER TO DATE

I’VE RECEIVED SO MANY MESSAGES IN THE PAST 24 HOURS FROM YOU GUYS. WE REALLY APPRECIATE YOUR KIND WORDS.

THE SILVER LINING IN THIS SITUATION IS THAT I MET BRETT AND ANDY. WE’RE CONTINUING TOGETHER AS A BAND UNDER A DIFFERENT NAME BECAUSE WE LOVE EACH OTHER.

THE AMAZING BAMBINO CREW WILL BE JOINING US AS SOUND ENGINEERS.

Drummer Andy Vincenzetti shared:

Onwards and Upwards,

Played some sick deathmetal and got to meet even sicker people.

Thanks for all the messages, I’ll answer all of yall as soon as I can, just focused on driving back safe to Portland from New York, much love!

This year, all three of the aforementioned musicians joined the group. It’s interesting to note that the technical death metal band has previously undergone mid-tour departures. Adam Roethlisberger, the band’s bassist and vocalist at the time, left in September of 2024. Following that departure, Rasmussen took some of the blame. Now he posted two lenghty videos to explain his side of the story.
