A while ago we reported that past comments by the vocalist of death metal band Cannibal Corpse, George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher, had caused outrage among some World Of Warcraft players.

In a 2007 interview, Fisher used offensive terms frequently used against homosexuals in relation to some of the game’s characters.

One of the characters in the game is named after Fisher’s stage name. Now, however, the controversy that has arisen from the comments has led to a decision by Blizzard Entertainment, the developer of the game, to rename the character in question. The character will henceforth be known as Annihilator Grek’lor.
