Joey Belladonna has finished recording his vocals on Anthrax‘s follow-up to 2016’s “For All Kings,” following a rather protracted gestation period. Around the pandemic, the thrash mainstays’ twelfth studio album’s writing and recording sessions were underway, once again led by producer Jay Ruston (Stone Sour, Avatar). Scott Ian, the group’s guitarist, admitted in August 2023 that he had been struggling to get the lyrics ready for the album, but Belladonna had already started writing his parts by the end of that year. Belladonna announced that his parts are now finished in a recent interview with Rebel Radio 92.5 FM.
You know what? I finished the vocals. I’m really happy with what I’ve done. And the band sounds great on the record. And as far as I know right now, we’re still finishing up a few things. We’re not even mixing yet, so at this point I’d be just speculating [about a possible release date]. Obviously, things are going in the right form and the timing is right. So, all good. I’m happy. You’re gonna love it.
