Finnish publishing company Like Kustannus has announced it will be releasing a book about one of Finland’s most well-known rock bands The Rasmus in fall 2022. The book will be written by author Ari Väntänen, who has previously written books about Hanoi Rocks, Apulanta and Stone.
Bassist Eero Heinonen had the following to say about the birth of the upcoming book:
“The idea of a book has often been on my mind. The work now being published contains both our own personal history and the things that helped us in a breakthrough for the world. It has even been therapeutic to take a look at our common, long history.”
Making the book has been inspiring for the band. Drummer Aki Hakala and former guitarist Pauli Rantasalmi said the following about the book:
“It was fantastic to go through great achievements and common adventures. Now was the time to immortalize the whole story.”
Singer Lauri Ylönen adds:
“A detailed review of my own life and the band’s career saved me from the grip of depression. It was like therapy for me. We have had an incredibly cool life and I will tell you all about it with pride.”
