The Rolling Stones releases a video tribute to drummer Charlie Watts

The Rolling Stones have paid tribute to Charlie Watts with a two-minute video featuring various photos and footage of their late drummer over the years.

The clip, which was uploaded to the band’s social media accounts on Friday, is set to the 1974 track “If You Can’t Rock Me” and concludes with a photo of Watts’s drum set that has a “closed” sign hanging on it.

The publicist of The Rolling Stones released an official statement about the death of Charlie Watts and you can read it below:

“It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Charlie Watts. He passed away peacefully in a London hospital earlier today surrounded by his family. Charlie was a cherished husband, father and grandfather and also as a member of the Rolling Stones one of the greatest drummers of his generation. We kindly request that the privacy of his family, band members and close friends is respected at this difficult time.”
