The Good The Bad and The Zugly rage against tech tyranny in new single “New Kids On The Blockchain”

Norwegian punk rockers The Good The Bad and The Zugly are back with another punchy anthem, “New Kids On The Blockchain”, the second single from their forthcoming album “November Boys”, due out on September 5, 2025.

The band kicked things off earlier this spring with the first single “How To Do Nothing”, which dropped in mid-April alongside a video. That track wasn’t just a song—it was a full-blown manifesto against the modern obsession with productivity.

According to the band, “How To Do Nothing” is a celebration of idleness, laced with biting irony about the tech-drenched world we live in. They mock today’s health-obsessed, marathon-running executives—slaves to their smartwatches and AI-powered apps that monitor stress levels, activity, even bedroom performance. And just when you think you’re doing okay, these gadgets chime in with a cold reminder: “You could be doing better.” Hell, they even find a way to blame your birth month—like, say, November.

The new track, “New Kids On The Blockchain”, cranks the satire up another notch. With its raw energy and signature GBZ snarl, the song takes a jab at the digital age’s cult-like obsession with crypto, surveillance, and performative progress. It’s fast, furious, and unapologetically fed up with the hollow promises of a hyperconnected future.

Both singles serve as rebellious calls to arms—a middle finger to Silicon Valley’s ever-tightening grip on our attention. The band credits their inspiration to Jenny Odell’s book “How to Do Nothing”, which they treat almost like scripture. Its message? Smash the cult of productivity, embrace boredom, and reclaim idleness as a radical and liberating act.
