Finnish gothic rock veterans The 69 Eyes have returned with new music. The band has released a brand-new single titled “I Survive”, featuring legendary guitarist Steve Stevens. The track serves as the first taste of the upcoming EP “I Survive”, which will be released on June 5.
After touring extensively across Finland and Europe over the past two years, The 69 Eyes now kick off a new chapter with fresh material and a new international label partnership. Musically, “I Survive” delivers fast-paced, straightforward rock in the band’s signature style.
The song “I Survive” was written by The 69 Eyes, Steve Stevens, and Emmy Award-winning songwriter Jacob Bunton. Meanwhile, Barry Pointer handled the mixing duties. Pointer previously worked on Ozzy Osbourne’s latest singles, including the Grammy-nominated “Crack Cocaine”, and has also collaborated with Mötley Crüe.
As a result, the new single carries a distinct Hollywood edge that fits naturally into the band’s sound.
“We needed a faster and more pulse-driven song for our live set, in the spirit of Lost Boys and Drive. Now we can get audiences jumping again all over the world,” says vocalist Jyrki 69.
The “I Survive” single previews the EP of the same name, set for release on Friday, June 5. Before that, The 69 Eyes will tour mainland Europe as part of the Cowpunks & Glampires tour together with Danish rock band D-A-D.
Internationally, the band will release the EP via Frontiers Label Group’s heavy-focused BLKIIBLK imprint. In Finland, The 69 Eyes continue working with Vallila Music House. Their previous studio album “Death of Darkness” was released in 2023.
