Finnish band T.Jarva & The Dark Place announce that they will release two singles this month. Here’s the statement from the band:
Do you feel like you’re losing your mind? Are you questioning reality, your own morals, and humanity as a whole? When the smiles have faded and the laughter has stopped, T.Jarva & The Dark Place will release new music.
The two-track digital single “Hades Children” b/w “Pompeii Dog” will be released on November 28 on all internet platforms as a preview of the upcoming album. Pimiö’s second album, “In a Dark Place,” is scheduled for release in spring 2026.
Taneli Jarva and Sami Hassinen’s acoustic duo has grown into an eight-piece monster in just a few years, and this time the full lineup can finally be heard on record. The new songs seem to expand the band’s sound from influences such as Cohen, Cave, and Cash to even The Doors and Röyhkä. Threat or opportunity?
On November 28, a video for the song “Hades Children,” directed by the band’s drummer, Sami Käyhkön, will also be released online. In keeping with the spirit of the times, the video uses artificial intelligence as a creative tool, bringing to life childhood photos of the band members and antique masks from Jarva’s personal collection. All trauma probably goes back to childhood.
And that’s not all: in collaboration with the Masis Brewery in Espoo, The Dark Place salmiak porter will be released just in time for the Christmas party season. Its strong flavors and dark color fit Pimiö’s dark style like a glove. The signature beer will be available from December in well-stocked stores and on tap at selected bars.
All this will be celebrated together at Kuudes Linja in Kallio, Helsinki, on Friday, December 12. The evening will be opened by The Chiefs, who are currently enjoying a strong underground following. Come raise a glass with us, because this will be a memorable evening that will go down in the annals of history and be remembered while rocking in a chair under a mushroom cloud.
