The American alternative rock group Superheaven, formerly known as Daylight, was founded in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, in 2008. Some have compared their sound to shoegaze and grunge from the 1990s. The band’s first extended play, “Sinking”, was published by Get This Right Records in 2009 under the name Daylight. It is a restored and remixed version of their demo. In 2010, Six Feet Under Records issued their second EP, “Dispirit”; in 2012, Run for Cover Records released their third EP, “The Difference in Good and Bad Dreams”, along with an acoustic EP. The same label published their first studio album, “Jar”, in April 2013. It peaked at number 184 on the US Billboard 200 chart.

Alternative Press’s list of “39 up-and-coming bands you must check out before 2013 ends” included the band. In early 2014, Daylight changed their name to Superheaven after a legal battle with a Spanish band of the same name. Taylor Madison, the guitarist and singer, stressed that their lineup and musical direction stayed the same despite the shift. The band joined with SideOneDummy Records later that year. May 2015 saw the release of their second album, “Ours Is Chrome”. To promote “Ours Is Chrome”, Superheaven went on a North American tour with Diamond Youth and Rozwell Kid in the middle of 2015. The band stopped performing full-time after their tour for “Ours is Chrome” came to an end.
