Sirenia, Moonsorrow and Týr to perform at Malpaga Folk & Metal Fest 2024

Once again this year, after several sleepless nights and long waits for confirmations, we have arrived at the complete bill for the next three dates of Metal Fest 2024.
Three separate days due to the usual bureaucratic problems, but with bands above all expectations. We start on Friday 26 July with the opening entrusted to the old acquaintance of Holy Shire led by our friend Erika, followed, for the first time in Malpaga, by Nocturna whose front-women are Grace Darkling and Rehn Stillnight. Their new work for Scarlet Records was released in April.
Pursued for some time and finally caught the Spanish Celtibeerian, authentic bagpipe and fiddle stars in Spain with their Folk Fucking Metal. After 10 years of activity it will be their first time in Italy; thanks to Malpaga of course !!! Surprisingly, Sirenia return, who last year were unable to perform fully due to the usual summer downpour. They expressly asked us to return so as not to leave the job half done; we pleased them.
Second evening on Saturday 27 July, starting early with our favourites Hellfox, an all-female band, as bad as they come, but in their metal they combine harmony and balance.
Tol Morwen From Modena, celebrating their 10th anniversary this year. They will be followed by the well-known Ulvedharr, who will present a surprise new line-up after the departure of founder Ark for family reasons. From Denmark, the large band Vansind, very much linked to Nordic and Norse mythologies; for the first time in Italy. The highlight of the evening will be the exclusive Italian presence of Moonsorrow, the only summer contact with our country and the only opportunity to see the feared Norwegians at work with their folk-viking Jumalten aika (The Time of the Gods).
The third evening Thursday 1 August will be a unique feast for our Faroese friends now at home at the Castle, Týr return by popular demand after having set the Malpaga stage on fire twice before. It will be a Týr day, an evening entirely dedicated to them and to the presentation of their new “Battle Ballads” (Metal Blade), which will be released in the days of the festival, anticipated by the video of “Axes“. They will arrive after two months on tour in the USA and Canada and will bring … music rooted in the epic past weaving powerful melodic inspiration for the modern Viking spirit; word of Heri, Gunnar, Hans and Tadeusz. This will also be their only date in Italy. The stage will be warmed up by the musical programming of “Mario Psycho12 metal-set”.
