Deadline reports that STX Entertainment’s planned Kiss biopic “Shout It Out Loud” is currently in final talks for director Joseph McGinty Nichol, also known as McG. Talks are on for Lionsgate to co-finance and distribute the movie globally. Production is scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2025, and casting is reportedly in progress. Darren Lemke (“Shazam!”, “Gemini Man”) wrote the most recent draft of the script. A director credit for Joachim Rønning, a Norwegian filmmaker known for films including “Kon-Tiki,” “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,” was originally attached to “Shout It Out Loud,” which was originally scheduled to premiere on Netflix.

Speaking to Talking Metal in 2021, veteran Kiss manager Doc McGhee revealed that the script for “Shout It Out Loud” was finished and focused on the band’s first four years.

Well, those guys are in their 50s or 60s, so you’re talking about another generation of actors. And I’m the first to say I’m not up on a lot of them. But as the casting process goes on, I’ll certainly be there and watching. It’ll be interesting to see how someone else — be it the casting people or the director — how they view who I am and who they see doing that.
