With summer come open air festivals, and especially in recent years, some of these festivals have unfortunately been forced to announce their cancellations. Most recently, Rock In Ruin 2025 – originally scheduled to debut from 29 – 31 May 2025 at the Stegeborg Castle Ruins, 20 km from the small Swedish town of Söderköping – had to make such an announcement, with organiser Mikael Hansson Finér stating on his personal Facebook profile:

“Due to too few tickets sold, Rock In Ruin at Stegeborg, 29-30-31 May, is cancelled. Money for tickets will be refunded.”

A total of 10 bands were supposed to play on two days of the apparently three-day festival: PAIN, Hardcore Superstar, Sator, Dregen, HammerFall, Evergrey, BULLET, STRÖM, Art Nation and Crashdïet.

The Swedish rockers Sator share the news with their fans as follows:

“Unfortunately, we have to announce that Rock in Ruin is cancelled. We have no further information at this time.”

The Swedish street metallers Hardcore Superstar state that they are “sorry to announce that this years Rock in Ruin has been cancelled” and that “more information and details will be released” on Rock In Ruin’s Facebook page.
