Prophecy Fest proudly announces Nergal to perform Behemoth‘s debut album “Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)” with Misþyrming at the Balve Cave!
In 2026, “Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)” – the seminal first album by Polish extreme metallers Behemoth – will rise again in a series of exclusive festival appearances across Europe, including Prophecy Fest at the Balve Cave, Germany. Marking the 30th anniversary of its original release, Behemoth frontman Adam “Nergal” Darski will revisit the dark origins of his musical legacy, performing “Sventevith” in its entirety.
This extraordinary series will see Nergal joined by Icelandic black metal visionaries Misþyrming, whose raw energy and uncompromising intensity have reshaped the modern black metal landscape. Together, they will summon the primal spirit of the 1995 release — an album that laid the foundation for Behemoth‘s evolution from underground obscurity to global extremity.
Performed live for the first time as a full conceptual work, “Sventevith” will return as both a tribute and a transformation: a rare convergence of heritage and renewal, honoring Behemoth‘s roots while embracing the ferocity of a new generation.
Martin Koller comments: “We are thrilled to welcome Nergal and Misþyrming to Prophecy Fest and the Balve Cave next year”, the fest’s founder enthuses. “This concert will close a circle for me, because 30 years ago, in 1996, I organized the Open-Air-Festival Heidenburg with the first Behemoth show on German soil. We are therefore very much honoured to have ‘Sventevith (Storming Near the Baltic)’, a milestone of Polish metal, performed with the help of Misþyrming in its entirety at our fest in 2026!”

Prophecy Fest was founded in 2015 and sold out its first edition. This singular event for dark and innovative music takes place in the Balver Kulturhöhle (“Balve Culture Cave”) in the Hönnetal (“Hönne Valley”) near the town of Balve in the Sauerland region of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The naturally formed karst cave has been used by humans since the early Stone Age (palaeolithic). This important archaeological site has yielded remains from many periods through the ages until medieval times. According to Germanic legend transmitted through the old Icelandic Thidreksaga, the mythical blacksmith Wayland came to this cave to learn his magical craft from the dwarven masters that were dwelling there.
The gravity of its history and the special acoustics of the Balve Cave provide a unique atmosphere that perfectly echoes the musical spirit of Prophecy Fest.
