Peter Kubik of Abigor passed away at 49
The Austrian black metal band Abigor confirmed the tragic news of the death of their guitarist and bassist, Peter Kubik. His spouse Lucia-Mariam Fåroutan-Kubik is his surviving spouse. As per the band’s Facebook message, Kubik took his own life.
Together with Thomas Tannenberger, who contributed multiple instrumentation to the project, Kubik formed Abigor. From their 1994 debut album “Verwüstung / Invoke the Dark Age” until “Taphonomia Aeternitatis – Gesänge am Leichenlicht der Welt” last year, he contributed to every release. I extend the sympathies of the Chaoszine team to Kubik’s surviving friends, family, and former collaborators during this trying time.
