Partizan Studio partners with Iron Maiden for “Run For Your Lives” tour and documentary

Author Benedetta Baldin - 8.5.2026

With the imminent release of “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” and the worldwide “Run For Your Lives” tour, British heavy metal giants Iron Maiden are commemorating their 50th anniversary, as per theprp. Partizan Studio has produced the animated visual universe for one of the biggest celebrations in rock history. Partizan Studio was asked to produce original animated sequences for “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” in order to bring the band’s mythology from the live stage to the big screen, following the recent release of the studio’s work on the “Run For Your Lives” tour, which turned Iron Maiden’s iconic 1980s and 1990s artwork into more than two hours of immersive stadium-scale animation.

The “Run For Your Lives” visuals, which were created over 14 months with a global team of more than 50 artists and produced by Partizan Studio under the direction of Pete Candeland and Rick Thiele of Red Knuckles, reimagined 50 years of Iron Maiden iconography as high-definition animated worlds. The effort, which included Unreal Engine sequences, classic keyframe animation, and moving matte paintings, created a comprehensive visual language for the band’s historic anniversary tour, which played to over a million spectators during its first European leg.

This partnership is now continued in “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” with brand-new animation made especially for the full-length documentary by Partizan Studio. The film, which is directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman, follows Iron Maiden‘s journey from East London pubs to the largest stadiums in the world. It combines exclusive interviews, rare performance footage, and new animated sequences of their iconic mascot, Eddie, with unprecedented access to the band’s official archives.

A cohesive visual chapter in Iron Maiden’s 50-year career, Partizan Studio’s tour and film work was developed in close collaboration with bassist Steve Harris, singer Bruce Dickinson, and manager Rod Smallwood. On May 7, “Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition” opens in theatres across the globe.
