Australian metalcore titans Parkway Drive have announced the upcoming premiere of their brand new live concert film, “HOME”, set for November 10, as per theprp. The film will debut with a black-tie screening at the State Theatre in Sydney, Australia, featuring a live Q&A session with the band in attendance and tickets currently on sale. A wider global release will follow later in November, with full distribution details to be revealed soon. “HOME” captures the group’s historic June 9, 2025 performance at the iconic Sydney Opera House, where they were accompanied by a full live orchestra. In early 2003, Parkway Drive was established. The street where “The Parkway House,” the band’s home rehearsal facility and venue, was situated inspired their name. According to the 2009 documentary “Parkway Drive: The DVD”, “Parkway House” was like “a little oasis for us and all our friends” because punk rock and hardcore punk bands had few places to rehearse and perform. I Killed the Prom Queen singer Michael Crafter, who was visiting from Adelaide, saw the group and became interested when they performed for the first time at the Byron Bay Youth Centre. Both bands toured Australia in June 2003 after the publication of the I Killed the Prom Queen/Parkway Drive: Split CD.
Following their signing with Resist Records, Parkway Drive released their debut EP, “Don’t Close Your Eyes”, in 2004, earning opening slots on Australian tours for heavyweight acts like Shadows Fall, Chimaira, Hatebreed, and Alexisonfire. Frontman Winston McCall expressed surprise at the EP’s unexpected success, noting how quickly fans connected with the six-track release.
After replacing original bassist Brett Versteeg with Shaun Cash, the group traveled to the United States to record their debut full-length album, “Killing with a Smile”, completing the session in just two weeks alongside Killswitch Engage guitarist and producer Adam Dutkiewicz. The record debuted at No. 39 on the ARIA charts, marking a rare international production move for an Australian metalcore band at the time. Following European and North American touring in 2006, Cash departed the band for personal reasons and was replaced by long-time friend and merch manager Jia “Pie” O’Connor. Shortly thereafter in June 2006, Parkway Drive officially signed with landmark U.S. label Epitaph Records.
