Parkway Drive gears up for new music after massive Opera House show

Australian metal heavyweights Parkway Drive are preparing for a new creative phase. In a recent interview, frontman Winston McCall revealed that after a packed touring year, the band will dedicate next year entirely to writing and recording new material.

McCall said the band decided not to release more singles after their spring track “Sacred”. Their focus shifted when they got the chance to perform a special symphonic show at the Sydney Opera House. The concert, backed by a full orchestra, became one of the biggest moments in their career and took months of planning.

After that major event, the Byron Bay metalcore group kept touring across Europe and Japan. Things will change in 2026, though. McCall confirmed that the band has new music in progress and will spend most of next year creating it. They plan to scale back live shows and focus fully on songwriting and studio sessions instead.

To keep fans engaged, Parkway Drive will drop a live album and a concert film from the Opera House show. McCall said these releases capture how far the band has evolved and offer a taste of what’s coming next.

Metalcore fans can rejoice, because brand new Parkway Drive songs are officially on the way. The band is ready to open the next chapter of their journey.
