Swiss deathcore act Paleface Swiss have teamed up with Jesse Barnett of Stick to Your Guns for a new track called “Instrument of War,” which they’re releasing as a charity single. Proceeds from both the song and a collaborative merchandise will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.

The song originated from time the two bands spent touring together earlier this year. While on the road, Paleface Swiss and Barnett began writing together, and that process evolved into a heavier, collaborative track. The creative spark also drew from a Pablo Picasso quote: “Painting is not done to decorate apartments. It is an instrument of war for attack and defense against the enemy.” With that philosophy in mind, they frame “art as armor.”

A video directed by Kriss Jakob accompanies the release, matching the artistic theme. The bands emphasize that their music isn’t background noise but something with intent: to challenge what divides people and to support what unites them.

Although the band generally steers clear of explicit political messaging, they say that supporting Doctors Without Borders is a cause they can firmly stand behind. The organization provides medical care in conflict zones, disaster areas, disease outbreaks, and mental health crises, which they view as direct, human-centered work.
