American virtuoso guitarist Steve Vai has revealed that he once recorded a whole unreleased album with Ozzy Osbourne during the nineties, which has yet to see the light of day.
In 1995, Ozzy Osbourne and Steve Vai were tasked with collaborating on “My Little Man”, a song for Osbourne’s seventh album “Ozzmosis”. The duo ended up writing an entire album together, according to Vai.
“I’m sitting on a whole Ozzy record,” Vai told Ireland’s EonMusic during an interview. “It’s a project that I recorded that’s sitting on the shelf. I don’t have any control over it or the rights to it, obviously, but we did record some pretty good stuff.”
Ozzy Osbourne recently won the 2023 Grammy Award for Best Rock Album with “Patient Number 9” and one trophy for Best Metal Performance category, for the song “Degradation Rules” at the pre-show Grammy Premiere ceremony which took place at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theater on February 5.
Steve Vai will be touring Europe performing songs from his latest album, “Inviolate”. The tour kicks off on March 24th in Lisbon, Portugal, and wraps on with a gig at Helsinki’s Kulttuuritalo on May 7th. Grab your tickets here.
