Omnium Gatherum releases new single “Walking Ghost Phase” ahead of album launch

Finnish melodic death metal outfit Omnium Gatherum has released a visualizer video for their single “Walking Ghost Phase”, positioning it as the final teaser track ahead of their upcoming album “May The Bridges We Burn Light The Way”, due November 7 through Century Media Records.

Vocalist Jukka Pelkonen explains that “Walking Ghost Phase” explores addiction in its many forms: how dullness can overcome passion, how addiction creates a fixation, and how a cycle of self-deception can trap a person in a zombie-like loop. He draws a parallel to the concept of “walking ghost phase,” referencing workers at Chernobyl in the 1980s who appeared to recover from radiation sickness before collapsing again.

Guitarist Markus Vanhala frames the track as a more direct, energetic offering, calling it a “banger” with live anthem potential. He adds that the album will still include more progressive and adventurous pieces.

The band is also preparing extensive touring to support the release, with North American dates scheduled through November and December, followed by a European leg in February and March, as well as Finnish shows in January.
