Finnish melodic death metal band Omnium Gatherum has announced the return of guitarist Joonas “Jope” Koto to their lineup, following the departure of Nick Cordle. The band shared this news on January 14, just as they were preparing to kick off their European tour in London.

Koto, who previously left the band in 2020, rejoins as the group embarks on their European tour with Insomnium at London’s Heaven venue. The reunion brings back a familiar face to the band’s lineup, with the group expressing enthusiasm about “having the old gang back on the road again.”

In the same announcement, the band confirmed that Nick Cordle would be stepping away from Omnium Gatherum to pursue his own musical endeavors. Cordle shared his own message to fans: “Happy new year! I wish for everyone’s 2025 to be full of new adventures and especially new music (as mine will be!), and I wish Jope and the gang all the best times on their tour.

The band expressed their gratitude to Cordle for his contributions during his tenure, stating they “want to thank Nick for these years in Omnium Gatherum and wish him all the best luck in the future,” adding that they expect to “meet at some festival backstage sooner than we can think and will raise a glass.

Along with the lineup announcement, the band reminded fans that their latest album “Beyond” is now available in a limited color LP version at local record stores, encouraging supporters to pick up their copies as they prepare to celebrate the album across Europe during their tour.
