Australian heavy metallers Northlane have unveiled their expansive new single “Dante“, out now via Believe. The song is the first piece of new music since their No.1 album “Obsidian” (2022). Watch the Ed Reiss-directed video below.
According to a press release, the song was originally written by the group’s guitarist Jon Deiley as a pure dance track for use outside the band.
Vocalist Marcus Bridge comments about the track’s lyrical inspiration: “‘Dante‘ is a song about losing someone close to us. As we try to process our grief, we are constantly asking ourselves questions, memories clouded with reminders of our loved one’s pain, wondering if there’s anything we could have done.”
In September, Northlane announced a handful of headline tour dates for February next year, which will be their only Australian tour of 2024. The Sydney-based outfit will be joined by US prog-metalcore act Erra, French band Landmvrks and New Zealand’s Banks Arcade at all stops.
The Dante Tour kicks off on Friday 9 February at Brisbane’s Fortitude Music Hall, with shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth to follow. Check out the full dates below.
