After going on hiatus in 2011, it seemed that Seattle’s progressive metal band Nevermore had closed the door for good, especially following the tragic passing of vocalist Warrel Dane in December 2017. At that time, guitarist Jeff Loomis was busy with his nine-year tenure in Arch Enemy, while bassist Jim Sheppard was focused on reviving Sanctuary. Drummer Van Williams explored various projects, including Ghost Ship Octavius.

Since Dane’s death, the band has largely been silent, but that changed on December 27th. Loomis and Williams have started teasing an exciting “new chapter” for Nevermore, hinting at developments for 2025. They shared a video that offers a glimpse of what fans can expect, along with a link to nevermoreofficial.com, which appears to be in the process of being revamped.
