At the end of the year, the Swabians of Necrotted serve up another treat that may have little to do with spaetzle, but tastes just as good: ‘Zeitenschlächter’ is the name of the new single, which the band presents together with a feature by Lukas Nicolai of Mental Cruelty. A blackened death anthem with lyrics written in both English and German, it nestles in the ear canal with its melancholic, dark melody and modern brutality. Tearing breakdowns, shredding guitars, infernal blast beats and inhuman screams and roars form a sonic thunderstorm that is more reminiscent of a ritual than a song.

Lyrically, the single explores the perspective of an ancient, godlike entity existing beyond space and time. Detached from moral concepts of good and evil, this being has watched humanity’s self-destruction for centuries with cold fascination. Wars, betrayal, and suffering serve as its entertainment – a grim reflection on transience, decay, and the cyclical nature of human downfall.
“Zeitenschlächter” was recorded by Marco Bayati and mastered by Marco Kollenz, ensuring maximum sonic impact and clarity. The accompanying music video was brought to life by Kriss Jakob (Aurora Motion Pictures), visually amplifying the track’s dark, ritualistic atmosphere.
