Manny Charlton, guitarist and founding member of Scottish hard rock band Nazareth, has died at age 80. His death was confirmed by a post from his grandson, Jamie Charlton.

Charlton was part of some of Nazarerth‘s great moments, including “Hair Of The Dog”. After leaving the band in 1990, the guitarist had a successful solo career, which includes albums like “Hellacious” and “Sharp”.

Manny Charlton was also a producer, having worked with Guns N’ Roses on “Appetite For Destruction”. Nazareth duties took him back to Europe before the work was done, as Mike Clink took over the function. However, Charlton’s versions were released in 2018, as bonus tracks on the re-issue of “Appetite For Destruction”.
