Monolord unleashes second single “Oozing Wound” from upcoming album

Swedish doom trio Monolord has released the second single “Oozing Wound” from their forthcoming album “Neverending.” The record arrives May 29, 2026, through Relapse Records.

The new track follows lead single “You Bastard,” which surfaced at the end of March. According to vocalist and guitarist Thomas Jäger, “Oozing Wound” marks a first for the Gothenburg band. The song largely revolves around a single riff, though the trio shifts the arrangement throughout, stripping back instruments at different points to let bass and drums carry the weight. Lyrically, Jäger describes the track as being about feeling trapped on a bad road with someone who takes advantage of you.

“Neverending” is Monolord‘s sixth full-length and their first new album in five years. The band recorded it in Ashland, Oregon with producer Sylvia Massy, known for her work with Tool, System of a Down, and Johnny Cash. Massy reportedly asked Jäger to send every riff and idea the band had ever written, including material going back a decade. From those sessions, the trio rehearsed twelve songs, tracked eleven, and ultimately picked eight for the final album.

The closing title track, “It’s Neverending,” features guest vocals from former Entombed bassist Jörgen Sandström, also known for his work in Grave, Domedagen, and Firespawn. It is the first Monolord song that Jäger does not sing on. Pre-orders for the album, including limited vinyl variants, CD, and cassette, are available now through Relapse Records.

The band also has extensive touring plans in support of the record. Per Wiberg, formerly of Opeth and Spiritual Beggars, joins the band on guitar as a fourth live member. Mizmor opens the Western US dates, while Khemmis supports on Eastern US dates outside of the Muddy Roots Festival.
