The third single from Miss May I‘s freshly released new album, “No Place For Me,” is “Hand Me A Halo“, as per theprp. Similar to “Sanctuary,” Garrett Drake and Josh Hart co-directed the music video for this song. The band’s aforementioned eighth studio album is scheduled to be released on October 02nd via Solid State Records.
‘Hand Me A Halo‘ tells the self-narrative of losing one’s sense of self and dealing with the intrusive thoughts that come with it. This song came from our own confusion and loss of identity through the changing seasons of life. The fear can be constant, leaving you to question if you just want someone to hand you a halo. – Levi Benton
The American metalcore group Miss May I is based in Troy, Ohio. They were formed in 2007, signed to Rise Records in 2008, and while the members were still in high school, the label released their debut album, “Apologies Are for the Weak”. The album peaked at No. 66 on Top Independent Albums, No. 29 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers, and No. 76 on the Billboard 200. Some of the band’s songs have also appeared in well-known productions; for example, “Apologies Are for the Weak” appears in the video game “Saints Row: The Third”, and “Forgive and Forget” is on the “Saw VI Original Motion Picture Soundtrack”.
With the exception of bassist Ryan Neff, who left the group in 2007 and returned in 2009, the band had maintained the same lineup since its founding until guitarists B.J. Stead and Justin Aufdemkampe departed in 2024. On August 16, 2010, Miss May I released “Monument”, their second studio album; on June 12, 2012, they released “At Heart”, their third album; on April 29, 2014, they released” Rise of the Lion”, their fourth album; and on August 7, 2015, they released “Deathless”, their fifth.
