The seasoned metalcore group Miss May I have collaborated with Solid State Records on “No Place For Me,” their upcoming eighth studio album, as per theprp. The new single, “Sanctuary,” has just arrived, and the record is scheduled to be released on October 02. The music video for the song below was co-directed by Josh Hart and Garrett Drake. Levi Benton of the band explained the lyrical inspiration for the song and album.
‘Sanctuary‘ is a song about wanting to feel safe and realizing you’re the one making that impossible. It’s a cycle I’ve struggled with my whole life and I think a lot of people know exactly what that feels like. ‘No Place For Me‘ is everything I’ve felt for a long time but never had the words for. Writing it taught me who I actually am even when that hurt to look at. It’s a full journey: Where it started, what I discovered, and where I am today.

The American metalcore group Miss May I is based in Troy, Ohio. They were formed in 2007, signed to Rise Records in 2008, and while the members were still in high school, the label released their debut album, “Apologies Are for the Weak”. The album peaked at No. 66 on Top Independent Albums, No. 29 on Billboard’s Top Heatseekers, and No. 76 on the Billboard 200. Some of the band’s songs have also appeared in well-known productions; for example, “Apologies Are for the Weak” appears in the video game “Saints Row: The Third”, and “Forgive and Forget” is on the “Saw VI Original Motion Picture Soundtrack”.
