Mikkey Dee reveals European shows playing Motörhead classics

Author Benedetta Baldin - 7.3.2026

Mikkey Dee was a member of one of the world’s most iconic and loudest rock bands – Motörhead – for nearly 25 years. The band toured the world relentlessly and sold over 15 million albums. Shortly after the band disbanded in 2015, he became a permanent member of Scorpions, launching new world tours with sold-out arenas.

That fans miss Motörhead has become even clearer now that Mikkey Dee is selling out shows almost everywhere when he performs Motörhead classics with Viktor Skatt and William Dickborn. Now there is a chance to experience the band’s legendary catalog again when Mikkey has a short break from Scorpions.

Dee was born in Gothenburg, Sweden, to a Swedish mother and a Greek father. His musical career started with the local bands Geisha and Nadir. Neil Peart, Brian Downey, Buddy Rich, Steve Smith, and Ian Paice in particular are among his primary influences. Dee joined King Diamond in 1985 after relocating to Copenhagen, Denmark, to perform with Geisha. He contributed to the King Diamond recordings of “Them” (1988), “Abigail” (1987), and “Fatal Portrait” (1986). The musicians supporting King Diamond were becoming less involved in the composing and decision-making process as he gained popularity. He felt that he was becoming less of a songwriter and more of a backing musician, therefore he made the decision to quit the band when the supporting tour for “Them” was over.
