Mike Patton’s project AVTT/PTTN performed Faith No More and Mr. Bungle songs – video footage available

Unexpectedly, Mike Patton has performed the 1999 Mr. Bungle song “Retrovertigo” live once more, this time with AVTT/PTTN. Patton’s folky Americana effort with folk rock group The Avett Brothers is the latter, as per theprp. This past January, Patton performed that song live with Mr. Bungle for the first time since 2000 after nearly 26 years. Mr. Bungle would later perform the song live with M. Shadows, the singer of their then-touring band Avenged Sevenfold, on that same Latin American tour.

But the AVTT/PTTN performance on April 10 at the Louisville Palace Theatre in Louisville, Kentucky, didn’t end with Mr. Bungle; among other things, covers of Patton’s most well-known band, Faith No More, were included. The latter alternative metal legends’ songs “Ashes To Ashes” and “Digging The Grave” were performed, along with a Commodores rendition of “Easy,” which Faith No More had recorded in the early 1990s. Below is fan-shot video of some of the highlights from last night’s performance. Unfortunately, it seems that Faith No More‘s continued absence might be irreversible, since Patton’s recent remarks seem to suggest the band has been laid to rest once more.
