The debate about whether rock is really dead is still going on in the music world and on the internet. Some say rock has lost the battle to hip hop, while others say rock is far from dead. Some think rock has just lost its teeth.

But now Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones has had his say, and his opinion on rock matters certainly carries a lot of weight.

Jagger commented in an interview with The Independent that while not many singers have kept the art of the rock singingalive, Machine Gun Kelly, who switched from rap to pop punk, and Yungblud have done their bit.

“In rock music you need energy and there have not been a lot of new rock singers around. Now there are a few,. You have Yungblud and Machine Gun Kelly. That kind of post-punk vibe makes me think there is still a bit of life in rock and roll”, Jagger said.
