The coronavirus and the restrictions imposed against it have made a big dent in the events industry and, at the same time, in the wallets of musicians and other touring workers. It is therefore perfectly understandable that bands are trying to do everything they can to be able to perform safely.
Indeed, metal giants Metallica and prog-metal favourites Tool are taking tough action, according to a report in Rolling Stone. Both bands use trained dogs on tour to sniff out any coronavirus infection in the band’s personnel.
The dogs are not used to sniff members of the audience, but those with access to the backstage area. The dogs sniff the face mask worn by the person, then are trained to sit in front of the person with coronavirus infection.
