Metal Hammer decided to list the 500 best metal albums: the top album is unlikely to surprise anyone

Metal Hammer, the German metal music magazine, has published several different lists. Some of the magazine’s lists include Metallica‘s best albums, best covers and Children Of Bodom‘s albums in even-numbered order.

Now Metal Hammer decided to rank 500 metal albums. The list includes all the typical bands such as Motörhead, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slipknot and Black Sabbath. There are also rock acts like AC/DC, as well as newer acts like Sleep Token and Ghost.

Metallica‘s classic 1986 album “Master Of Puppets” came in at number one, which is hardly a surprise. The album was praised for its “complex structures”, “depth” and guitar solos.
