Former Nightwish bassist and singer Marko Hietala has announced a European headline tour for next fall. The run marks his first full headline trek across the continent in support of his current solo album “Roses From The Deep”, which was released almost a year ago.
Hietala released the album almost a year ago and followed it with two tours in Finland. Now, the focus shifts to the rest of Europe. The tour will take place in October 2026 and includes five dates in Germany, plus shows in Austria and Switzerland. Announcing the news on social media, Hietala said that he and his band are taking the show across Europe next fall. Tickets are already on sale, although no support acts have been revealed yet.
The tour comes at a busy time for Hietala. He recently celebrated his 60th birthday and wrapped up a 40th anniversary tour with his original band Tarot. At the same time, he continues to perform with former Nightwish bandmate Tarja Turunen on the “Living The Dream Together” tour. Because of their close collaboration, guest appearances during the October dates remain possible.
Since leaving Nightwish in 2021, Hietala has focused on several creative projects. He has also spoken openly about his struggles with depression and anxiety. Later, he received a diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. These experiences strongly shape his recent music, and they give “Roses From The Deep” a personal and direct tone that now takes center stage on his European headline run.
