Mark Jansen (Epica) marries Laura Macrì (MaYaN) after 14 years together

Mark Jansen, guitarist and co‑founder of Epica and MaYaN, has married Italian soprano Laura Macrì, his longtime partner and artistic collaborator. The couple tied the knot in a civil ceremony, as confirmed by publicly shared footage celebrating the event.

Jansen and Macrì have been together since 2011, forming one of the most recognizable partnerships in the symphonic metal world. Beyond their personal relationship, the two have collaborated extensively within MaYaN, where Macrì’s operatic vocals have become a signature element of the band’s sound. Their creative synergy has also extended into Macrì’s solo career, with Jansen contributing compositions and production to her classical‑influenced releases.

The marriage marks another milestone in a meaningful chapter for the couple, who welcomed their daughter Ilse in November 2023.
