Marilyn Manson’s legal troubles are far from over: trial date officially set for next year

Ashley Walters, Marilyn Manson‘s former personal assistant, has accused him of sexual assault and other offences, as per theprp. Manson is scheduled to go on trial in the autumn. The case, which was initially filed in 2021, mentioned claimed instances that occurred between 2010 and 2011 while Walters worked for Manson. In her initial case, she accused the shock rocker of violating multiple Californian civil rules, causing emotional distress, and engaging in sexual harassment, assault, and abuse. Due to issues with the statute of limitations, the lawsuit has now been dismissed and reinstated multiple times. After California passed the AB 250 bill in January of last year, it was most recently revived.

This law provided adult survivors of claimed sexual abuse with a brief window of opportunity to avoid the regular statute of limitations that is typically applied to most claims. A court rejected Manson‘s request to have the case dismissed in June of last year. On August 12, Rolling Stone announced that the case has been rescheduled for a jury trial on November 15, 2027. Manson was the target of multiple civil cases brought by numerous women who came up against him with allegations of abuse back around 2021. That date was established during a hearing held yesterday. Since then, he and Esmé Bianco and another unnamed complainant have negotiated a settlement.

Ashley Morgan Smithline withdrew and recanted a different lawsuit she had filed against him. In the meantime, Bianca Allaine Kyne sued Manson for sexual assault, claiming that the occurrences occurred in the 1990s. It seems that the latter case is still ongoing. Manson has openly refuted the accusations against him. Authorities looked into the allegations against Manson for a long time, but the LADA’s Sex Crimes Division decided not to file charges.
