Long time southern rock act Lynyrd Skynyrd will cancel some of their August shows after guitarist Rickey Medlocke tested positive for COVID-19.

“Rickey is home resting and responding well to treatment. We will continue to update you on his condition”, says the band on social media.

The band is next scheduled to perform on 19 August in Canandaigua, New York.

Lynyrd Skynyrd’s only original member, guitarist Gary Rossington, has been unable to join the summer tours due to open-heart surgery. He will be replaced by Damon Johnson, who played with Alice Cooper and Thin Lizzy.
