As lambgoat reports, Kiss bassist Gene Simmons officiated the official wedding ceremony between former Butcher Babies vocalist Carla Harvey and Anthrax drummer Charlie Benante in Las Vegas. Photographs and videos from the ceremony and reception were posted on Instagram by Josh Bernstein, president of the music-focused Z2 Comics. He congratulated Benante and Harvey, who is currently starring in Lords of Acid and The Violent Hour. Benante’s Anthrax colleagues Frank Bello and Scott Ian, as well as professional wrestler Chris Jericho of Fozzy and Rex Brown of Pantera, were among the musical guests at the wedding. Members of Dream Theater were also present, according to Bernstein, and at one point an Elvis Presley impersonator even took center stage. The groom spoke to People:
The wedding is like an elegant Russ Meyer movie with a rock and roll twist. … The initial idea was a small, intimate wedding with just a few friends and family, but we knew that we would not be able to get away with a small wedding once other friends heard about it. … We are finishing the second EP for Carla’s band, The Violent Hour, and we will be releasing an Anthrax album shortly, so we will be getting right back to work after the wedding.
Congratulations and all the best to the newly wed couple!
Joey Belladonna has finished recording his vocals on Anthrax‘s follow-up to 2016’s “For All Kings,” following a rather protracted gestation period. Around the pandemic, the thrash mainstays’ twelfth studio album’s writing and recording sessions were underway, once again led by producer Jay Ruston (Stone Sour, Avatar). Scott Ian, the group’s guitarist, admitted in August 2023 that he had been struggling to get the lyrics ready for the album, but Belladonna had already started writing his parts by the end of that year. Belladonna announced that his parts are now finished in a recent interview with Rebel Radio 92.5 FM.
