Lisa Marie Presley, singer-songwriter and only child of Elvis Presley, has passed away aged 54. Shortly before her death yesterday, her mother, Priscilla Presley, had released a statement that Lisa Marie Presley had been rushed to the hospital:

“My beloved daughter Lisa Marie was rushed to the hospital. She is now receiving the best care. Please keep her and our family in your prayers. We feel the prayers from around the world, and ask for privacy during this time.”

– Priscilla Presley

In a hospital in the Los Angeles area, Lisa Marie Presley then succumbed to the heart attack she had suffered in her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas:

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.”

– Priscilla Presley

Priscilla Presley goes on to say:

“She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss.”

– Priscilla Presley

Lisa Marie Presley had four children herself; three daughters and a son. The son, Benjamin Keough, took his own life on 12 July 2020 at the age of 27 via a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Lisa Marie Presley was said to have been “heartbroken, inconsolable and beyond devastated” due to the loss.

Lisa Marie Presley was married four times, with her second marriage to Michael Jackson – who passed away in 2009 – causing quite a stir. After all, it was the daughter of the King of Rock’n’Roll who married the King of Pop. The short-lived marriage lasted from 1994 to 1996 and remained childless. The music video for Michael Jackson‘s “You Are Not Alone“, in which the couple appeared together, remains unforgotten, though. You can check out the video below:
