Los Angeles-based solo black metal project Lamp of Murmuur have unveiled the second single “Reincarnation of a Witch,” from their upcoming album. Their fourth full-length “The Dreaming Prince in Ecstasy” will be released on November 14 via Wolves of Hades. The track, running just over five minutes, offers a more compact statement compared to the earlier single “Forest of Hallucinations.”
“Reincarnation of a Witch” begins in traditionally raw black metal, driven by relentless blast beats and sharp, staccato riffing that carries a hint of melody. The song transitions toward a darker, more melodic atmosphere, revealing a moody, yet catchy layered structure.
According to mastermind M., the song took form in a sudden burst of chaos and carries an energy that’s both enchanting and ferocious. Fans who have seen the band live over the past year may already recognize it, as its anthemic feel has been part of the band’s recent setlists.
“The Dreaming Prince in Ecstasy” merges the thematic and sonic paths explored on “Submission and Slavery” and “Saturnian Bloodstorm”, while striking out into new territory.
