LA Rockers Blacklist Union unveil “Madame Butterfly” – A heartfelt love letter to Femme Fatale’s Lorraine Lewis

Taking its title from Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Blacklist Union‘s new single “Madame Butterfly” is a world away from the opera’s tragic tale of unrequited love. Instead, it serves as a heartfelt love letter from frontman Tony West to Lorraine Lewis of Femme Fatale.

West says: “‘Madame Butterfly’ is about finding love after your heart has been bled dry. Being grateful for having love in your life. This song is about Lorraine Lewis.”

“Madame Butterfly” is the lead single from Blacklist Union‘s forthcoming album, “The Good, The Bad And The Notorious,” due for release in spring 2027. The release follows the acclaimed single “Jackson,” Blacklist Union‘s reimagining of the Johnny Cash and June Carter classic, which paired Tony West with Lorraine Lewis in a high-octane duet blending outlaw country, punk attitude and rock ‘n’ roll swagger. As TotalRock noted, it was ”the equivalent of Johnny Cash and The Ramones‘ genre-flexible musical baby… Idyllic lovebirds meet wild, bar-smelling punk rock ‘n’ roll.” The release showcased the undeniable chemistry between the two vocalists.

Formed in Los Angeles in 2006 by Bronx-born frontman Tony West, Blacklist Union have spent the past two decades creating a sound that mixes hard rock, punk and alternative influences. Produced by Christopher Johnson (Evanescence, Scott Weiland, Josh Todd), Blacklist Union‘s 2025 album “Slay The Dragon” earned widespread radio and press acclaim, with Powerplay Rock and Metal Magazine describing it as “ready made for stardom.”

Now celebrating their 20th anniversary, Blacklist Union head to the UK and Europe this September alongside Faster Pussycat and Femme Fatale for a 19-date tour, continuing to build on their reputation for explosive live performances and rock ‘n’ roll attitude.
