The last days have been quite eventful in the American political landscape and when Kyle Gass of the comedy rock duo Tenacious D joked on stage about Trump’s assassination attempt (“Don’t miss Trump next time”, he said, while he was asked to make a wish for his birthday before blowing out the candles), the tense really became perceivable.

Now Kyle Gass has been dropped by his talent agency and the future of the band is unclear. His apology on social media about the joke has also been deleted now. He formerly wrote:

“The line I improvised onstage Sunday night in Sydney was highly inappropriate, dangerous and a terrible mistake. I don’t condone violence of any kind, in any form, against anyone. What happened was a tragedy, and I’m incredibly sorry for my severe lack of judgement. I profoundly apologize to those I’ve let down and truly regret any pain I’ve caused.”
