James “Munky” Shaffer, the guitarist for Korn, has acknowledged that he has spoken up inside the group about bringing back the “Family Values Tour” in one way or another, as per theprp. Speaking with the joy of everything recently, Shaffer first kindly shared his experience at “Woodstock 99” and the anxiety that accompanied it while appearing to be waiting for a flight at an airport. Shaffer responded as follows when asked if there was ever a possibility of a “Family Values” reunion tour during that conversation.
That would be amazing, and have the originals like Ice Cube and Rammstein. I mean, it’s possible.
When asked if the band had ever explored the notion, Shaffer said he had supported it.
I’ve talked about it. I have talked about it. I’m the one that’s like, ‘let’s do this!’. So I think if we have the right people involved, it could happen.
The first “Family Values Tour,” which debuted in 1998, ambitiously put together a bill that featured Korn, Rammstein, Ice Cube, Limp Bizkit, and Orgy.
A platinum-certified live concert album was later created to commemorate the trek’s success. When members of Rammstein were notoriously jailed in Worcester, Massachusetts for their obscene onstage antics, that first journey also garnered media attention. The tour would go through several variations in the years that followed, with its final version occurring in 2013 as a one-time destination festival in Broomfield, Colorado.
